Adventure At Altitude lifts patrons skyward seven days a week in ultralight hang-gliders, simulating a bird’s smooth flight or dabbling in a daredevil’s airborne twists and flips. During initial one-hour sessions, apprentice aviators receive ground training including an instruction video and Q&A in a heated facility with certified instructors to prepare them for their up to 15-minute voyage. Ultralight engines thrust teachers and pupils into aerial orbit at more than 600 feet per minute, elevating them above spectacular surrounding scenery. Smooth journeys linger 2,000 feet above ground, treating riders to a leisurely trek through the air, and Aerobatic expeditions shift side to side, rotate upside down, and challenge clouds to dance-offs at over 2,000 feet. Midair mentors permit students to pilot the aircraft at any time, and customers can even shut off their engine for silent flights in which thermals keep hang glides aloft. Adventure At Altitude treats groups of five or more reserving together to free picnic fare, such as meat or veggie hot dogs and burgers, while they watch flying friends or glue feathers to their arms to impress nearby fowl.
