Today’s Groupon to Fine Art Bartending School. Choose between the following options:
- For $65, you get an Introduction to Bartending class (a $165.99 value).
- For $299, you get a two-week bartending certification course, plus a live training bartending shift (up to a $724 value).
Fine Art Bartending School offers hands-on training to barkeep aspirants and home hobbyists alike in a fun and interactive environment. During the four-hour introductory class, an experienced pro imbues students with the bartending basics and sympathetic-listening techniques necessary for manning the boozy gates. Classes cover proper mixing, pouring, and braising methods, imparting the know-how for crafting concoctions of classic cocktails, martinis, and shots. The instructor also goes over all the essential elements to stocking and maintaining a home bar so students are prepared when a potential mate or the Stampeders stop by for a drink. Classes are usually scheduled on Saturday afternoons from noon to 4 p.m., with upcoming class dates listed on the website.
For those whose future vision includes drink slinging for tips or tipsy grins, Fine Art’s two-week certification course adds further skills to mixological indoctrination. Students can hone the liquid choreography skills of draft-beer pouring and participate in an optional guest-bartending shift for an additional fee (not included with this Groupon). After graduation, swizzle-pivoting pupils test their prowess and current-events-trivia retention with a live shift, then tap into the school’s database of bartending jobs across Canada. Tuition for both classes includes all taxes and course materials, which leaves extra resources for continuing their classes in bar-top acrobatics.
