The Oakwood Café’s chefs create upscale twists on cafe favourites from the multifarious new menu, which includes vegetarian and gluten-free options. Take taste buds on a Hellenic sojourn with nibbles of the Greek burger ($12.99), in which a homemade hamburger patty, grilled chicken breast, or veggie patty defeats the rumblings of even the hungriest minotaur with an arsenal of feta cheese, black olives, and homemade tzatziki. The smothered chicken arrives at tables backstroking in a velvety bath of cream sauce dotted with islands of bacon and swiss cheese ($18.99), and a bed of pasta hoists top sirloin simmered in a red wine in the beef stroganoff ($13.99 for lunch; $17.99 for dinner). Chefs use a mayonnaise mortar between three tiers of shaved ham, fresh asparagus, and cheddar cheese in the country house sandwich ($11.99).
